Proximity isn’t the variable that matters

The clinic five minutes closer to your house isn’t automatically the better choice. Every clinic will tell you they use “the latest laser.” What actually matters is the specific device sitting in the treatment room and the wavelengths it fires, because that’s what determines whether the laser can target your hair follicles without damaging the skin around them.

The real differentiator is whether someone does a free consultation and an actual Fitzpatrick skin-type assessment before your first session — not after they’ve already quoted you a price. A five-minute drive that gets you a proper assessment beats a zero-minute drive that doesn’t.

The machine we use, and why the wavelength combination matters

We use the Candela GentleMax Pro, a dual-wavelength system that pairs a 755nm Alexandrite laser with a 1064nm Nd:YAG laser. Two lasers, not one, because they solve different problems. The 755nm Alexandrite wavelength is efficient at targeting hair pigment on lighter skin. The 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength goes deeper and is safer on skin with more melanin, because it’s less likely to be absorbed by the skin itself instead of the hair follicle. Having both in one machine means the laser gets matched to the person in the chair, instead of the person getting matched to whatever single wavelength the clinic happens to own.

That matters in South Florida, where we regularly treat clients across the full Fitzpatrick range, including a lot of Fitzpatrick IV through VI skin. A machine tuned for one wavelength is a machine that’s guessing on a large share of the people walking through its door. The GentleMax Pro is built to treat Fitzpatrick I through VI, and its cooling system fires cold air before, during, and after each pulse to protect the skin while the laser works. That’s part of what keeps darker skin from burning.

If you see “$19 a session,” that tells you something

You’ll see laser hair removal advertised in this market for $19 a session, or bundled into “unlimited” plans. We’re not going to pretend that pricing doesn’t exist. What we’ll say is what it usually means: an older or single-wavelength machine, and no real conversation about your skin type before you’re quoted a number.

A $19 laser session with no discussion of your skin type tells you what machine they’re running. Something gives at that price — the device, the assessment, or both.

That’s part of why we don’t run unlimited plans or push people into an $8,000 membership they didn’t ask for. No upsells. Per-area and per-package pricing, published, so you can do the arithmetic yourself before you hand over a card.

How many sessions you’ll actually need

Most areas run 6–8 sessions, spaced 4–8 weeks apart, timed to the hair’s growth cycle. Face and bikini areas commonly need 8–10 sessions, because hair growth cycles there are less predictable than on legs or arms. Anyone quoting a flat “6–8 sessions, guaranteed” regardless of area isn’t giving you a real number.

And here’s the honest ceiling: expect 85–95% permanent reduction with occasional maintenance sessions afterward, not 100%. Nobody selling laser hair removal can honestly promise you’ll never see a stray hair again.

What it actually costs, area by area

Single sessions: lip, chin, sideburns, hairline, and jawline run $149 each. Underarms, bikini line, belly, and forehead run $189. Full face, brazilian, chest, half back, full stomach, buttocks, and lower legs run $249. Full arms, full back, and full legs run $499–$599 per session.

If you’re committing, the 6-session packages do the math for you. Medium areas — bikini line, lower legs, half arms — run $499 for the full package. Large areas — full legs, full arms, brazilian, full back — run $599. Full body packages run $2,499 for a 7-part plan or $2,999 for head-to-toe coverage.

Here’s the actual math worth doing before you book anywhere: take whatever per-session price a clinic quotes you, multiply it by a realistic session count for your area, and compare that total to our package price. If the total doesn’t work up front, we offer financing through Affirm and Klarna, and we take Visa and Mastercard.

What the consultation checks before you pay for anything

The free consultation is where we assess your Fitzpatrick skin type, look at the density and color of the hair you’re trying to remove, and figure out which wavelength setting and how many sessions actually make sense — before a dollar changes hands. If a clinic can quote you a price before they’ve looked at you, ask what exactly that price is based on.
