The Pitch Is “Permanent.” Here’s the Honest Answer to That.

Every pitch for Bellafill leads with the same word: permanent. It doesn’t dissolve, doesn’t get reabsorbed the way hyaluronic acid does. That’s the sell. Here’s the honest answer to it: the thing that makes Bellafill appealing is also the thing that makes it worth slowing down over before you book.

We offer Bellafill as one of three non-HA fillers, alongside Sculptra and Radiesse. What separates all three from the HA fillers we also carry — the Juvederm and Restylane families — is simple: if an HA filler doesn’t look right, we can dissolve it with an enzyme called hyaluronidase and start over. Bellafill doesn’t give you that option.

What Bellafill Actually Is

Bellafill is made of polymethylmethacrylate — PMMA — microspheres suspended in a collagen gel. The microspheres don’t get broken down and cleared by the body the way hyaluronic acid does. They stay where they’re placed. That’s the entire reason it’s marketed as permanent, and the entire reason it deserves more scrutiny than the fillers that aren’t.

It sits in our lineup next to Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) and Radiesse (calcium hydroxylapatite). All three are non-HA fillers, and all three work differently than Juvederm or Restylane. But they’re not interchangeable with each other, and none of them are interchangeable with the HA family. Bellafill is the one at the far end of the spectrum — the one that isn’t designed to go anywhere.

We’re not going to pretend we can tell you exactly how Sculptra’s gradual build compares to Radiesse’s timeline down to the week, because that’s a conversation for your consultation, not a blog post. What we can tell you plainly is this: HA fillers are reversible. Bellafill is not. That single fact should drive most of the decision.

What “Can’t Be Dissolved” Means in Practice

We’ve said this before about fillers generally: two injectors using the exact same syringe of the exact same product can produce completely different results. That’s not marketing — it’s the reality of a technique-dependent procedure.

With HA fillers, a gap in skill is forgivable, because a bad result can be corrected. Too much product in the wrong spot, an asymmetry, a lump — hyaluronidase breaks it down, and you and your injector try again.

With Bellafill, that correction doesn’t exist. Overfilling is already the single biggest reason filler looks bad on anyone, HA or not. With an HA filler, that’s an inconvenience you can fix in a follow-up visit. With Bellafill, it’s something you live with.

This is the part of the “permanent” pitch that gets left out of most conversations. We’d rather you hear it from us before your appointment than after.

Who Shouldn’t Get Bellafill

If you’ve never had filler before and you’re not sure how your face will look with more volume in a given area, Bellafill is not where you start. That’s what HA fillers are for. If you like it, great. If you don’t, it’s reversible with hyaluronidase.

The Bellafill-versus-Juvederm question isn’t really a longevity question, even though it gets framed that way constantly. It’s a reversibility question. If you’re not fully confident in the outcome you want, or you’re treating an area for the first time, that’s the trade to think through before you commit to something that stays.

Who Can Actually Inject It in Florida

Florida law requires that dermal filler be injected by a licensed medical professional — an MD, an ARNP, a PA, or an RN working under physician supervision. That requirement exists for every filler we carry, HA or not. It matters more with Bellafill, precisely because there’s no correction waiting on the other side of a mistake.

We don’t publish a set price for Bellafill, for the same reason we don’t publish one for PicoWay melasma sessions: it depends on the area being treated, how much product the correction actually requires, and what we find at your consultation. Anyone quoting you a flat number sight unseen is guessing, and with a non-reversible product, that’s the wrong place to guess.
