How to Actually Vet a Med Spa in Sunny Isles Beach
We’re at 16850 Collins Ave, Suite 105, in Sunny Isles Beach. “Medical spa” gets used loosely around here — it shows up on a lot of signs that have nothing medical happening behind them. The difference isn’t the marble countertop or the waiting room. It’s the device behind the door and who’s legally allowed to operate it. That matters more in a market like this one — Sunny Isles Beach, Aventura, Bal Harbour, Hallandale Beach, North Miami Beach — because the clients getting these treatments span the full range of skin tones, and not every laser on the market handles that range safely.
“Latest laser” means nothing. Ask for the device name and the wavelengths.
Every clinic will tell you they use “the latest laser.” What actually matters is the specific device and the wavelengths it fires.
We use the Candela GentleMax Pro for hair removal — a dual-wavelength system pairing a 755nm Alexandrite laser with a 1064nm Nd:YAG laser. That combination is what lets one machine safely treat someone Fitzpatrick I (very fair) through someone Fitzpatrick VI (very dark), instead of guessing.
For tattoo removal and pigmentation work, we use the Candela PicoWay, which fires three wavelengths — 532nm, 785nm, and 1064nm — covering the full range of ink colors, including blues, greens, and pastels. The “pico” refers to picosecond pulses, which shatter pigment with a pressure wave instead of heat. Ask any clinic for the device name and the wavelengths. If they can’t tell you, that’s your answer.
Florida law is specific about who can inject you.
Florida requires that dermal filler be injected by a licensed medical professional — an MD, ARNP, PA, or RN working under physician supervision. That requirement doesn’t change based on how a business markets itself. A spa can have “medical” in its name and a doctor’s photo on the homepage and still not be the one holding the needle. Ask who’s doing the injecting. A clinic that’s in compliance will tell you without hesitating.
A free consultation and a skin-type assessment should happen before anyone touches a laser to your skin.
We offer a free consultation and a Fitzpatrick skin-type assessment before your first session — hair removal, tattoo removal, pigmentation treatment, all of it. This isn’t a formality. Fitzpatrick typing determines laser settings, and the wrong setting on the wrong skin tone is the difference between clean results and burns.
Discount clinics skip this step constantly. A $19 laser session with no conversation about your skin type is a red flag on its own, regardless of what machine is running it. It’s one of the easiest things to check before you book: ask whether a skin-type assessment happens before the first pulse, not after you’ve already paid for a package.
No “unlimited plan,” no upsell — just the per-area price.
Pricing here is per area and per session. Lip, chin, or sideburns for laser hair removal runs $149 a session. A 6-session package for medium areas like bikini line or lower legs is $499; large areas like full legs or Brazilian run $599 for six. Tattoo removal is priced by size per session — $199 for something under an inch, up to $649 for a full sleeve.
That’s the whole model: no “join our unlimited plan for $8,000” pitch in the consultation room. You see the per-area price, you see the package price, and you can do the math yourself before you commit to anything.
Financing exists so cost isn’t the reason you put this off.
We accept Visa and Mastercard, and offer financing through Affirm and Klarna for clients who’d rather spread a multi-session course out over time than pay for it up front.
We’re on Collins Avenue, and we see clients from across the county.
We’re located at 16850 Collins Ave, Suite 105, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160, and our clients come from well beyond that one address — Miami, Aventura, Bal Harbour, Hallandale Beach, North Miami Beach. The questions in this article apply regardless of which clinic you end up walking into.
Four questions to ask before you book anywhere — including here.
Ask the exact device name and wavelengths. Ask who performs injectables, and confirm they’re licensed under Florida’s requirements. Ask whether a Fitzpatrick skin-type assessment happens before your first session, not after. Ask for the real per-session price along with the total sessions typically needed for your case — not just the teaser rate on the ad that got you to call.
Ask us the same questions.
We’d rather you ask these and book elsewhere than skip them and end up somewhere that can’t answer. If you want to run through them in person, we offer a free consultation and skin-type assessment before you commit to anything — reach out and set one up.
