Why Our Laser Hair Removal Costs More Than a $19 Ad
If you’ve been pricing out laser hair removal in Hallandale Beach, you’ve probably seen a $19-a-session ad next to a clinic charging $249. One of those numbers is doing a lot of work to get you in the door. Here’s what’s actually behind the gap — and the real numbers you need to compare clinics on your own terms instead of chasing a teaser price.
We’re not in Hallandale Beach
Manhattan Laser Spa is located at 16850 Collins Ave, Suite 105, in Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160 — not in Hallandale Beach itself. We treat clients from Hallandale regularly, along with Miami, Aventura, Bal Harbour, and North Miami Beach. We’d rather say that now than have you show up expecting a Hallandale address. If you’re weighing us against a clinic that’s physically closer to you, that’s fair. We just want the comparison to be honest on both sides.
What a $19 session usually means
Every clinic will tell you they use “the latest laser.” That phrase means almost nothing on its own — what matters is the specific device, its wavelengths, and whether someone is adjusting settings for your skin before they fire it. A $19 session with no conversation about your skin type tells you something concrete: either the machine is older or single-wavelength, or the price exists to get you in the chair so you can be upsold once you’re there. We’ve built our pricing the opposite way on purpose. No upsells, no “join our unlimited plan for $8,000” conversation halfway through your first visit. The price on our pricing page is the price, per area, per package.
The device we actually use
We use the Candela GentleMax Pro — a dual-wavelength system that pairs a 755nm Alexandrite laser with a 1064nm Nd:YAG laser. It’s the reason we can treat Fitzpatrick I through VI — very fair skin to very dark skin — on the same machine, instead of telling darker-skinned clients to go find somewhere else or undertreating them with a laser that wasn’t built for their skin. The Alexandrite wavelength targets hair effectively in lighter skin; the Nd:YAG wavelength goes deeper and is better suited to melanin-rich skin without the same risk of burns or pigment changes. The device also fires cold air before, during, and after each pulse, which is what makes the treatment tolerable and reduces heat damage to surrounding skin.
Two wavelengths plus active cooling. That’s the mechanical difference between clean results and burns — and the difference between a clinic that can serve Sunny Isles Beach’s genuinely diverse client base and one that can only comfortably treat part of it. More detail on how the treatment works is on our laser hair removal page.
The real pricing, area by area
Single sessions: lip, chin, sideburns, hairline, or jawline run $149 each. Underarms, bikini line, belly, or forehead run $189. Full face, Brazilian, chest, half back, full stomach, buttocks, or lower legs run $249. Full arms, full back, or full legs run $499–$599 per session.
Packages bring the per-session cost down fast. A 6-session package for medium areas — bikini line, lower legs, half arms — is $499 total, roughly $83 a session. A 6-session package for large areas — full legs, full arms, Brazilian, full back — is $599 total, around $100 a session. There are combo packages too: full legs, feet, and bikini line together for $777 over 6 sessions, or full legs, feet, and Brazilian for $849. For clients doing more than a couple of areas, full body packages run $2,499 for seven body parts or $2,999 for head-to-toe coverage.
Lay that against a $19-a-session ad and do the multiplication before deciding which one is actually cheaper. Full pricing detail is on our laser hair removal pricing page.
How many sessions you’ll actually need
Most areas take 6–8 sessions, spaced 4–8 weeks apart. That spacing follows your hair’s growth cycle — laser hair removal only works on hair that’s actively growing at the time of treatment, and not all your hair is in that phase at once. Face and bikini areas often run higher, 8–10 sessions. If a clinic promises full results in three or four visits, ask what happens at session five when the hair comes back — for most people, it does, at least for a while.
What “permanent” actually means here
No laser gets you to 100%. What we can tell you, based on how this device performs, is 85–95% permanent reduction with occasional maintenance touch-ups down the line. That’s the number you should hold every clinic to, including us.
The free consultation the cheap ads skip
Before your first session, we do a free consultation and a Fitzpatrick skin-type assessment. It’s what determines the wavelength and settings we use on you. A $19 walk-in session usually skips this step — that’s part of how it gets to $19. If a clinic can’t tell you your Fitzpatrick type before they treat you, they’re guessing at settings, not customizing them.
Paying for the right package
A full package is a real expense. We’d rather you pay for the right treatment over time than get talked into a cut-rate one because the upfront number was lower. We accept Visa and Mastercard, and offer financing through Affirm and Klarna if you’d rather spread a package out. If you want to talk through which package fits your areas and budget, contact us and we’ll walk through it — no pressure to book more than makes sense for you.
